Turf Cutting Ceremony

After many years of waiting and planning the official build has started at Llantwit Major School and the Llantwit Learning Community.  On Monday 23 November the school welcomed Jane Hutt AM, Cllr Chris Elmore and many other local councilors and governors, as well as representatives from the building contractors Bouygues, to perform the official turf cutting ceremony.  There are massive changes to the site already visible with the new school due to be completed by March 2017.

As part of the link between the school and the building company, pupils in Years 7-9 were asked to apply to become construction ambassadors.  The six successful candidates wrote superb letters and will now be a key part of the building programme, their main role being to keep the rest of the school informed of the building progress.

The Construction Ambassadors are:  Year 9 Jessica Bowen, Jessica Fitzpatrick; Year 8 Megan Elston; Year 7 Emma Burke, Iona Wilkinson, Izzy Thomas.
