History Key Stage 3
The programme of study for Key Stage 3 in History is structured around a designated content allowing pupils to develop the required knowledge, skills and understanding of History. The core of the content consists of:-
a. the impact of the Normans on Wales and Britain, the development of Wales in an era of conquest and revolt.
Everyday life, worship and culture in medieval society. As well as the concepts of continuity and change focussing on schools, life and Medieval Wales.
b. the political unification of Britain, the power of the Monarchy and its changing relationship with Parliament and the people. The nature and impact of religious and cultural change, the century of revolution. The economic transformation of Wales and Britain and the responses to these changes.
c. Britain, Europe and the World 1900-2010. This focuses on international co-operation, conflict and changes.
